Teachers need to demonstrate professionalism by showing that the students are at the center of their interests. Teachers can show the importance of students by organizing their lesson plans to fit the needs of their students and modify lessons when necessary. A good way for teachers to demonstrate their professionalism to the parents of students is by communicating with the parents, this could be done by letting the parents know what is going on in class and what the objectives are through a weekly "classroom letter." Teachers should also communicate with parents about any concerns for specific students, this will show the parents that the teacher cares and wants to help the students to succeed.
As a teacher, I will demonstrate professionalism by connecting my classroom with the families to show families that my primary goal is to help their children grow in the classroom. I feel that it is my professional responsibility to find a way to connect with all parents, even the one that are difficult to reach. Taking the time to reach out to all parents is something that not many teacher attempt to do, but it would show parents that I truly care about the success of their children.
