Instruction involves many aspects of what occurs during every school day. Instruction involves what is being taught, how it is being taught, and how it is being assessed. Teachers must use different instruction techniques to reach different students in any classroom, often using more than one instructional technique at once. Different types of assessment are also used to gauge what the students have learned and what they may struggle with. The different types of assessment are grouped into two categories, formative and summative assessment. Teachers use this assessment to determine what the students have learned and what they may need more helpful, once this data is collected, the teacher should design future lessons and instruction to fit the needs of the students.
