The responsibilities of teachers go beyond what is being done during the day when students are in the classroom. Teachers must constantly work to improve the effectiveness of their classroom. Teachers should continuously work to grow by further developing pedagogical skills as well as improving content knowledge. Teachers can also improve their classroom by working to maintain accurate records; this includes maintaining record or student grades, specific documents, as well as reflections on what types of instruction work well for students. Teachers should also display professional responsibilities by connecting with parents and families of their students. Connecting with families gives teachers insight into the lives of their students and may provide details that are not displayed by the student in class.
