Designing coherent instruction involves designing lessons meet learning objectives and are engaging for students. Lessons should challenge the students academically and have opportunities for students to be engaged. Teachers should use different types of instruction to meet the learning styles of all students. Teachers can engage the students in group work as long as the groups are carefully thought out and the assignment is carefully designed to ensure that all students learn through the experience.
In my classroom, I will demonstrate designing coherent instruction by having a plan for all of my lessons. With a lesson plan, it becomes possible to have fun and interactive lessons while staying on task. It is easy to become off task and lose the intended learning outcomes through interactive lessons and group work, but having a well thought out lesson plan gives the teacher away to make sure that the lesson reaches it's intended goal.
